Dear Parents,
Thank you for helping us have another successful week of testing. The kids really stuck with it and I was so proud of their efforts and positive attitudes. Next week, we will have 3 science tests and then we'll be finished with testing until Mid April.
I'd like to throw the kids a party next Friday, March 27th, to celebrate their hard work and perseverance these past few weeks. We're just finishing our read-aloud book, City of Ember, and they've requested that I show the movie and then we can compare it to the book. I'm delighted to do this, and I'm asking for help from YOU to provide yummy, celebratory snacks for the occasion. I'd love some popcorn, juices and maybe some sort of muffins, cupcakes, or cookies. Let me know if you can help us with these party needs.
Please remind your student to collect their pledges from the Read-a-thon. These monies are due by next Friday - March 27 and will help us go on our end-of-the-year trip: Rock climbing in Tres Piedras!
Again, many thanks for all your support, both here in the classroom and at home.
I'm looking forward to seeing you Monday for conferences,
Kelly

Super Big thank you to Deb vanWilligen for leading our lesson on hearts and dissection this week! The kids were really enthralled and they are very excited to see real animal lungs next week!
Also, thank you for helping your child feel rested and prepared for testing this week. I think the kiddos did very well overall. We focused on staying positive and balanced in our thoughts - as well as reminding ourselves about the many things that make us special, talented and unique. Next week, 2 tests - mathematics, Tuesday and Wednesday 3/17 & 3/18.
Reminders:
NO SCHOOL Friday - teacher In-service. Parent-Teacher conferences Monday 3/23. Please come by classroom to sign up. Thanks!
